Mike Richter became the New York Rangers’ number one goaltender in the 1993-94 season. That year he recorded a career-high 42 wins and had a 2.57 goals against average. Richter took home the All-Star Game MVP at Madison Square Garden and later became the 8th goaltender ever to post 4 shutouts in one playoff season. In the Stanley Cup Finals Richter had one of the best moments of his career stopping Vancouver’s Pavel Bure on a penalty shot.
