Regarded by many as one of the greatest goalies of all time Patrick Roy is widely credited with revolutionizing the butterfly style of goaltending.
In the 2000-01 season Roy led the Colorado Avalanche to the best regular-season record in the league winning the Presidents’ Trophy. He then propelled his team to the Finals taking on the defending champion New Jersey Devils. After some poor Finals performances by Roy and the Avalanche Roy bounced back in Game 6 by stopping 24 shots in a 4-0 victory. After winning Game 7 to secure his second Stanley Cup Patrick Roy was named the playoff MVP for a career record third time.
